They don't really outright state how exactly this is a benefit, and it's even stranger that only the Pixel 3 XL has this problem, and not the Pixel 3. Google agrees on this, and explained on Reddit that it's by design. Some users are complaining one of the front-facing stereo speakers is louder than the other. The last bug is also for audio, but this time with output. Thankfully though, Google says they're continuing to tweak the feature, and will take the complaints into considerations. It's actually been tweaked to help outdoor video recording by eliminating the frequencies of ambient noise like cars, horns etc. However, the company has commented on the issue, saying it's how their device is designed. When recording video, users notice that audio tends to sound very tinny and distant compared to other devices, especially the new iPhone XS Max. The second bug is with sound recording on the Pixel 3 and 3XL, although Google insists this is a feature.
Because of this, it's believed to be a bug in Android rather than a hardware issue. However, actually opening your gallery shows it's not visible there. On reopening, it looks like the last-clicked image's thumbnail is displayed on the gallery button in the camera app. Specifically, the glitch seems to occur when a person takes a photo with Google Camera, and then switches to another app or locks the phone immediately after. Even worse, this is something that's happened in the past with the Pixel 2 and 2 XL as well. Then again, your camera failing to save an image after you think you've just captured the perfect click is plenty frustrating by itself, without it happening multiple times. Though the bug itself isn't exactly frequent, it seems to be widespread enough to be an issue. Some owners have been complaining online that their Google Camera occasionally fails to save an image after it's clicked. Users are reporting glitches when it comes to saving camera photos, and the sound is a little off.
An unfortunate trend has cropped up with premium hardware launches recently and the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are no exception.
